8 Weeks!
Not much has really happened this week. I still have been feeling pretty sick but I have been taking the prescription my doctor gave me and that helps a lot. I have to make sure I take it early though because if I don't I throw up the medicine and I have to be careful because they didn't give me a lot of it. I really feel sick at night time, because I don't take my medicine at night. They only gave me enough to take one a day so I save them for the morning. I have my first appointment next week so hopefully they will give me more then! I am so excited for our appointment! I really hope that we will be able to hear the baby's heartbeat. I have noticed a couple different changes with my body this week. 1. My boobs are HUGE and hurt SO bad! I have to wear a sports bra to bed so I have some extra support. lol. 2. I feel so fat! Obviously I am not showing yet or anything but I feel like my gut pokes out and I can't suck it in no matter how hard I try. Garrett is cute. He always tried to touch my belly. Most of the time I get mad at him because I tell him it is just fat! He is so excited to be a Dad and he will be a great one! We did our taxes today and we got back a good amount. It's funny how things change now that we have a baby on the way. Usually we would go buy something with our tax return but this year we are all about saving and paying things off. We really want to get Garretts truck paid off so that all three of our vehicles will be paid off and then we will only have to pay on our house. I think thats about it for this week! Next week will be a lot more exciting. Our baby is the size of an olive this week :)

7 Weeks!
I am 7 weeks as of Monday and I must have jinxed myself in the last post because the day after I wrote it I started getting HORRIBLE morning sickness. I have been throwing up almost every morning to the point where I am dry heaving because there is nothing left in me. I tried a bunch of things but nothing was working. I had saltines and ginger ale next to my nightstand so I could eat/drink it before I got out of bed.... didn't work. Work has been awful. There is no worse feeling than being sick all day and having to be at work. Monday I had had enough so I called my doctor to see what I could do. She told me of a couple things I could take over the counter but she also called me in Zofran (a prescription anti-nausea medication.) Today was my first day taking it and I feel SO much better! I wasn't sick at all today. It's amazing how much better my day was because I wasn't feeling so sick. We also got flu shots at work today so hopefully I won't feel sick for a while! I think that is about the only thing that has really gone on this week. Garretts Great Grandpa Elfors died yesterday so everyone is feeling pretty down. It kind of makes me want to tell them about the pregnancy so they will cheer up a little. Last night Carla said that our baby is up in heaven hanging out with Great Grandma and Grandpa Elfors! I'm glad she said that because I have been thinking about it all day and it has made me so happy. Garrett is convinced we are having a boy. I really don't care what we have but I am feeling more like it is a girl. We started talking about baby names this week.....
If it is a Boy....
Griffin
Benson
Mccoy
If it is a Girl...
Tenley
Reese
For some reason I can think of a lot more boy names that I like than girl names... Maybe we are having a boy! Anyways our baby is the size of a blueberry this week! It's still so little!

6 Weeks!
Wow! I feel like a lot has happened in the last week! All I can say is this is going to be a long 7 1/2 months. I have started feeling the dreaded morning sickness! I hvan't thrown up yet, thank goodness, but I sure feel like i'm going to. I hate throwing up so I try everything not to. Smells have really started getting to me. I have cravings for mexican food. I better enjoy it while I can because I know pretty soon I probably won't be able to eat mexican food. Turns out the baby does not like sugar at all! I can not eat anything sugary or I feel very sick. I am EXHAUSTED!!! I have never been so tired in my life. I hope this doesn't last too long because I have been so lazy and havn't been able to get anything done! I don't think my house has ever been so messy! I would go to bed at 7pm every night if I could, with a nap during the day. Work has been kind of hard since I don't feel good. Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end :) I made my first doctors appointment. It is February 7th, still 3 weeks away! I am dying! Obviously I am pregnant but it will feel a lot more real once we get to see out little bean! I will be 9 weeks when I go to my appointment! I have been trying to get on the treadmill but it has been hard since I feel so crappy all the time. For now I think I just need to get a lot of rest. Our baby is now the size of a pea. Oh yeah, and our baby has a heartbeat now!

5 weeks!
According to the pregnancy tracker I am 5 weeks today! The baby is the size of an orange seed! CRAZY!
We told my parents last night and my mom was VERY excited! She was screaming, actually. I also told my friend Kelli, who I work with. Since I work around nitrous oxide I am going to have to tell people at work because I no longer can work on patients that want it, at least for the next little while. We also told Garretts little brother and he thought we meant we were getting a new puppy. I think he was a little dissapointed when he found out it is actually a baby! That is all the people we will be telling for a while. Once we go to the doctor and make sure everything is going okay we will tell grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We probably won't announce it to friends until I am at least 8 weeks... maybe even longer. I am a little paranoid about the miscarriage thing. Almost everyone we have told thinks it is going to be a girl.... We will see soon enough! I have been feeling pretty good. I really don't notice too much. The only thing I have noticed is I get really hungry but then after I eat I feel a little nautious... not bad though. I guess that is it for now. I will probably try to post every week!

We're Pregnant!
Yesterday, January 6th 2012, was the best, most crazy day of my life. It had been a normal day. We went grocery shopping, went to lunch and went to Tysons basketball game. Garrett wanted to stay for the varsity game but I didn't because I was really tired. He dropped me off at home and went back to the game. When I got home I had realized that I was a couple days late for my period and my boobs hurt like crazy. (sorry if that is TMI.) I had a couple dollar store pregnancy tests in the closet so I decided to take one. To my surpise, two lines! It was POSITIVE! I'm sure the look on my face was priceless. I thought it was wrong at first so I went and bought more tests, all different brands. I took four more that night and they were all positive! I was pacing around the house like crazy and I even started crying! While I was at the store I bought a blue gift bag, pink tissue paper and some baby ruths. I put the baby ruths in the bag along with one of the pregnancy tests! I then waited anxiously for Garrett to come home so I could tell him. When he came home he brought me flowers!!! I told him that was funny because I had something for him too. When he opened the bag and saw the test he said "Are you sure?" I told him that i had taken three more. He was so excited and he even started crying, which is not like Garrett! After a minute he said "I think I need to sit down." He looked like he was going to puke! We were both kind of speechless for about an hour or so. Then we decided we wanted to tell his family because his sister Vanessa wasleaving the next morning to go back to school and we knew we wouldn't see her for a few months. We went to Walmart and bought a pink and blue onesie and put it in the blue bag with pink tissue paper and baby ruths. When we went to give it to them Vanessa knew right away by the color of the bag. They were VERY EXCITED! They have a not so funny idea that it should be twins! ha. Carla and Vanessa think we are going to have a girl. Garrett has already said he wants a boy. At this point I really don't care what we have just as long as we have a healthy baby! This morning I took two more test, both positive. We are planning on telling my parents tomorrow. They are going to be ecstatic! We probably won't tell anyone else until i'm about eight weeks. From the pregnancy tracker I will be five weeks tomorrow so it won't be long! Also my estimated due date is September 10, 2012! What a perfect time to have a baby! We are so excited and, of course, a little nervous! WE ARE HAVIN' A BABY!
