9 Weeks!

I am sooo excited for this post because yesterday was our first doctors appointment. I actually met with one of the PA's instead of my doctor because they said that's what they have their patients do for the first visit. When I got there they told me that they were going to want to do a pap smear (which I wasn't too happy about. lol.) My blood pressure was a little high, probably because I was so nervous. I went to the doctor 2 weeks before because I was sick and it was normal so I'm not too worried about it. The PA came in and talked to us about family history and things that I need to stay away from now that I'm pregnant. She did the exam, which was miserable but then she did an ultrasound and we got to see our little baby! It was TINY but I'm so glad we got to see it. After the ultrasound she tried to listen for the heartbeat but couldn't find it. She said that my uterus is tipped and so you usually can't hear it until about 12 weeks. I think she could tell I was a little worried so she assured me that everything looked fine and she is 99% sure that everything is okay because A. we saw it, B. My uterus is expanding and C. I asked for another prescription for Zofran. She said if there was something going wrong there is no way I would be feeling as sick as I have been. She asked us if we wanted to do the down syndrome testing and we said no. This is our baby nomatter what. I go back in 3 weeks to meet with my doctor this time. I don't think they will do an ultrasound but they will listen for the heartbeat. After our appointment I had to go down to the the lab to get my blood drawn. They took 8 tubes of blood and it was coming out SO slow! I kinda felt like I was going to pass out after. My next appointent I will almost be 13 weeks. I am getting so excited the further along I get because the miscarriage rates keep dropping and also the closer I am to, hopefully, not being sick anymore! We went last night and told the rest of our family members and they were SO excited. It was so funny because last week Garretts Grandma Joyce said that she had had two dreams about us that week! When we told her she said she knew I was and a couple days earlier she had bought stuff to make a blanket for a baby girl! Everyone thinks we are going to have a girl so it will be interesting to see if they are all right or wrong! Our friends came over to visit the other night with their 3 kids and their baby pooped and it stunk so bad and then their oldest, who is 4, threw up on our carpet. The minute I smelled it I ran into the bathroom to puke! lol. Garrett was very overwhelmed but he helped clean the little boys throw up. He is going to be a great Dad! I think that is it for this week! This was a long one!
